From Computational Genomics
Scott Sammons is the Team Lead of the Bioinformatics Group in the Biotechnology Core Facility Branch at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). His group provides bioinformatics support for the CDC Genome Sequencing Lab and Research Scientists throughout the CDC. He has provided bioinformatics support on many outbreak response teams during outbreaks such as H1N1 influenza, Cholera, Listeria, Monkeypox, and Anthrax. He and his team provide support to CDC projects involving pathogen detection and discovery, variant detection, genome comparisons, SNP determination, core and pan-genome determination, and phylogenetic relationship analysis.
